Neum is a municipality located at the southernmost point of Bosnia and Herzegovina and represents the only access to the Adriatic Sea. Thanks to its long, warm summers and short, mild winters, Neum is considered one of the coastal towns with the highest number of sunny days in the year.

Since ancient times, the area of Neum has been known as a significant crossroads of various routes leading from the coast inland. Neum is first mentioned in the 4th century, in the year 533, under the name “Neuense”. Until 1718, Neum was part of the Dubrovnik Republic, when it was handed over to the Turks for the needs of ships and supplies for military troops in the hinterland. In 1878, Neum, along with the rest of Bosnia and Herzegovina, became part of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, remaining so until the end of World War I in 1918. In the second half of the last century, the first resorts, hotels, and other tourist facilities began to be built, and Neum started to take on its present appearance as a popular tourist destination on the shores of the Adriatic Sea.

Neum is known as one of the coastal towns with the highest number of sunny days throughout the year, and the bay is sheltered and closed off from the open sea by the Pelješac and Klek peninsulas, making the water very calm and clear. The ideal summer temperature, fresh coastal air and sea, sheltered beaches, and attractive amenities for family vacations make Neum the perfect place for a summer getaway!
